We thrust popular Homebase shop assistant 'Nigel' into the limelight and onto BBC 6 O'clock news with a successful social media campaign to have him turn on Portishead's Christmas Lights, beating the World's Sexiest Man, Johnny Depp, into second place.
The story generated ‘money can’t buy’ media coverage with minimum investment from the client. Nigel was featured on the BBC homepage, the BBC 6 O’clock news also reported live for the big Christmas switch-on.
3000 turned up to watch Nigel turn on the lights wearing ‘I love Nigel from Homebase’ t-shirts.
